The purpose of a foundation is to distribute the weight of a structure securely into the ground. Geotechnical engineering data regarding soil, rock and water conditions are used to design foundations with structural integrity. When foundation failure does occur, it is usually the result of differential settlement or heaving of the soil that supports the foundation.

Common signs of foundation failure:

  • Stair step cracks in brick
  • Chimney rotation
  • Window sticking
  • Drywall Cracks

There are several different methods to address each unique foundation failure. For more information be sure to check our FAQs section or contact USS for a permanent foundation repair solution.

The Abe Jack ® system is capable of straightening and reinforcing basement walls to give the strength needed to resist earth pressure. In block or poured walls, problems can be caused by earth, hydrostatic and frost pressure.
